Arnaud DeFohn is the villian we all love to hate appearing originally in the Invisible Man pilot. The character has a few amusing touches--he's French-Swiss, with connections to the deadly terrorists of the Free Quebec Militia.

Arnaud originally infiltrated the Quicksilver gland project and added a nasty side effect to the gland surgically implanted in the lab rat, ie Darien Fawkes.  That side affect is Quicksilver madness, not to mention the extreme of this is Quicksilver mad stage 5.  Everyone will want an Invisible man on their country's side but everyone will also have to pay Arnaud's price to keep their Invisible Man sane. Arnaud's cure is counteragent, yet it only last for about a week, shorter than that if you go quicksilver too long, more than thirty minutes.  "Its a license to print money." Well almost. Joel started acting as a youngster, when he would put on plays in the streets of his native Montreal.

 

"I wanted him to be so unlkeable, so 'smarter-than-thou.' He's the guy at high school that you just want to belt, but he wins anyway.  You beat the crap out of him, but he gets the hottest girls.  He's the kind of guy who's going to win.  So you detest him for that - but I also wanted Arnaud to be likeable to the audience.  I didn't want to make him so repugnant that people couldn't somehow get behind him."
